Building on the success of N26’s transparent card, we introduced five playful virtual cards, each representing a spending category—like a cookie for dining or a suitcase for travel. Collaborating with Este Studio, we brought them to life in 3D and even animated them in-app—a first in banking.
For the launch, we crafted a bold, digital-first campaign using snappy visuals, motion graphics, and dynamic storytelling. The impact was undeniable: virtual card issuance doubled, customer spending increased, proving that great design sparks engagement—even in banking.
Results: 3x virtual cards issued / +26% new virtual card adoption / +41% more spent from customers with new virtual cards.
